FCTPolice Places Ilebaye’s Brothers On Protective Custody

The younger brothers of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya are currently in protective care, following a domestic fight between the reality TV star and her father in Abuja.

Confirming the development in a statement issued on Sunday, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said the two boys, Godson Emmanuel Odiniya, 14, and Devin Emmanuel Odiniya, 10, were rescued with Ilebaye, after a distress call from Royal Anchor Estate in Wuye.

The police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh clarified online rumours regarding the children’s whereabouts and condition.

“Following the rescue of Ms. Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel and her two brothers, they were rushed to Yabisam Hospital, Lugbe, alongside their father, who also sustained injuries during the confrontation.

“The rescued siblings are currently in police protective custody, contrary to the circulating publications being released online, while their father, who is also receiving medical treatment, remains in Police custody,” he said.

The Command further stated that inquiries will start as soon as all individuals are medically confirmed stable, noting that investigations are still ongoing.

According to reports, the incident happened early on Friday morning after police were notified that the former BBNaija winner and her father, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya, were being assaulted.

Around midnight, Wuye Division officers and Department of Operations personnel arrived at the residence, according to the police, but at first they were unable to enter because the gate was shut.

“Upon arrival, officers discovered that the gate to the residence was locked. After several attempts, access was gained into the compound at about 2:30 a.m.

“Ms. Ilebaye Odiniya, who was found with visible bruises, was rescued alongside her brothers and rushed to NNPC Hospital Abuja, where she received medical attention,” the statement added.

The police said that Honourable Odiniya is still being held while the incident’s circumstances are thoroughly investigated.

According to reports, the altercation apparently began when Ilebaye went to the house to see her younger brothers and talk about plans for her 24th birthday celebration.

The issue has also brought the long-running family conflict back into the spotlight when the parents of the children were reportedly divorced after 32 years of marriage.
