The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Babalola, has urged newly graduated soldiers of Driver Basic Course 1/26 to demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and discipline as they return to their respective units.
The Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations 81 Division Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, said in a statement that Gen Babalola gave the charge during the graduation ceremony at the 75 Supply and Transport Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Gen Babalola was represented by the Division Training Officer, Brigadier General HM Bello. The GOC emphasised adherence to speed limits, proper understanding of road signs, and the importance of professionalism and good conduct.
He noted that the course was designed to address the shortage of qualified drivers within the Division. Gen. Babalola commended the 75 ST Brigade’s instructors and staff for their dedication to equipping the trainees with both practical and theoretical knowledge, and urged the graduates to apply the skills acquired.
The Acting Commander 75 Supply and Transport Brigade, Col IM Akosim, praised the graduates for their discipline and encouraged them to uphold high standards in their duties as well as put into practice all that they learned during the course.
The course, which commenced on February 30, 2026, trained 43 personnel drawn from units and formations within the Division’s area of responsibility
