A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso yesterday tipped President Bola Tinubu to win the 2027 presidential poll with an overwhelming majority of the vote in the North.
In a statement, the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA) Director of Finance said the ongoing attacks on Tinubu in the North would not stop him from winning.
He said: “I was part of the Goodluck Jonathan government. We saw how they used Insecurities, allegations of underperformance, and shared tribal sentiment on him during the election period.”
Kwankwaso added:” Although the late former President Muhammadu Buhari did his very best, it was during his time that the North West experienced and continues to experience the most deadly problems of insecurity.
“Why wouldn’t northerners blame him for failing to rescue the region from the agony of kidnapping, banditry, and the frequent attacks, which even resulted to the abductions of several schoolchildren during his tenure.
“It is high time we told ourselves the bitter truth. Although the President and his Security Chiefs are the ones having the coordinating powers on security, they are not the ones who will carry guns and ammunition to face criminals.
“They have done and continue to do the needful of giving enough money for the supply of weapons and the motivational attachments to troops. “Nigerians should help themselves and the government not to sit back with unnecessary criticism.”
He further said: “President Tinubu has clearly shown and continues to show that he is not a tribalistic leader. “Check the work going on in the North, from Kano to Daura to Maradi, Kano to Abuja, Maiduguri to Port Harcourt, railway programs are going on nonstop.
