APC Aspirant Speaks On Interest In Ondo Assembly Seat

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oluwaseun Albert, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Ondo State House of Assembly seat representing Odigbo Constituency 1 under the platform of the party.

Albert said he showed interest in the Assembly seat because of his readiness to serve and represent the people of the constituency if given the mandate in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the formal declaration, Albert said his ambition is rooted in service and aligned with the development agenda of the state government.

According to him, “My aspiration to contest for the House of Assembly stems from the agenda of the governor. I have been carrying out various empowerment programmes for my people, which align with the governor’s vision.”

Albert highlighted his grassroots engagements, noting that his initiatives in youth empowerment and community support reflect his commitment to development.

He said, “If you look at my efforts supporting people, empowering youths through sports and other engagements, they all align with the agenda of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.”

He appealed to party members for their support, assuring them that he would maximise the opportunity to attract development to the constituency if elected.

Party leaders and stakeholders who spoke at the event welcomed his ambition and encouraged him to sustain consultations across the constituency.

An ex officio member of the party, Fatai Olawale, alongside the APC Chairman in Odigbo Local Government, Kolawole Babatunde, commended Albert’s decision to join the race, describing it as a positive step for youth participation in politics.

Also speaking, party chieftain Adedimeji Abimbola praised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to youth inclusion, urging Albert to remain consistent in his engagement with the people.

Abimbola said, “We are happy to see a known and capable young person stepping forward to contest for the House of Assembly in Odigbo. It is encouraging, and it shows that the future of our politics is bright.”

Another party supporter, Kunle Ogunbi, also threw his weight behind Albert’s aspiration, citing his contributions to the community.

Ogunbi said, “Oluwaseun Albert is going for the House of Assembly in Odigbo, and we want the people to support him. He is one of us. He has been helping the people—sharing food, providing books, and supporting the community.”

The declaration event was attended by party executives, councillors, youth leaders, and other stakeholders across Odigbo Local Government Area.
