Haaland Strikes As Man City Edge Arsenal 2-1 In Title Race Thriller

Manchester City reignited the Premier League title race on Sunday night with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium, as Erling Haaland proved decisive in a high-stakes encounter.

City made a brighter start and took the lead in the 16th minute through Rayan Cherki, who produced a moment of individual brilliance, weaving through the Arsenal defence before calmly finishing.

However, the lead lasted barely two minutes, as Kai Havertz capitalised on a defensive lapse to fire Arsenal level and silence the home crowd.

The intensity continued after the break, with both sides pushing for control. Arsenal came close to turning the game around, striking the woodwork twice and forcing a series of saves, but City’s clinical edge ultimately proved the difference.

The decisive moment arrived in the 65th minute when Haaland latched onto a chance and buried his effort, securing what would prove to be the winning goal and his 23rd league strike of the season.

Tempers flared late on, with Haaland involved in a heated clash with Gabriel Magalhães as Arsenal desperately searched for an equaliser. Despite sustained pressure and attacking substitutions from Mikel Arteta’s side, City held firm to claim a crucial three points.

The result has major implications in the title race, cutting Arsenal’s advantage and handing momentum to Pep Guardiola’s side, who now have renewed belief heading into the final stretch of the season.
