Anambra State Government, on Sunday, demolished a brothel in Awka Capital uncovering large quantity of narcotics. Also the manager of the brothel was arrested alongside two senior staff, twenty sex workers and some male patrons.
The operation was carried out by the Agunechemba, Security Squad who stormed the area based on security information.
The brothel found to be a safe haven for large peddlers of hard drugs, even as large quantity of illicit drugs were discovered on Saturday night.
Findings revealed that operatives of Agunechemba swooped on the complex on Saturday and arrested its manager, storekeeper and barman, including 20 ladies suspected to be commercial sex workers and some male patrons.
The guest house which is located at Y-Junction, Okpuno, Awka South Local Government Area, had been identified as a den of criminals and drug peddlers. The operatives led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security, Mr Ken Emeakayi, intercepted a large consignment of hard drugs from the store of the illegal tourism facility.
