Nigerian Brand Launches Premium Leather Shoes in Lagos

Beyond Leather Culture, a Nigerian shoe brand, has launched a premium men’s leather shoe collection at its newly opened store in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, marking a significant move in the country’s footwear market.

The collection features loafers, sandals, Oxfords, and Derbies, all crafted from top-grade leather with attention to detail, reflecting BLC’s commitment to quality and durability. The launch was celebrated with a Sip-and-Shop event, aimed at appreciating the brand’s loyal customers.

Speaking at the event, BLC Visionaire Mrs Olufunke Isichei said the launch was both a celebration and a milestone in the brand’s journey.

“This isn’t our first year in leather. I began selling leather items in 2000, took a break, and relaunched on Instagram in 2020. Last year, we opened our physical store. This gathering is a thank-you to the clients who have supported us over the past five years,” she said.

She added that the event offered special discounts as a token of appreciation for customers who have supported the brand from its early days: “Over the years, they’ve become more than clients; they’re family, advocates who give us valuable referrals and repeat business. They are part of our community.”

All BLC shoes are made from genuine leather, she emphasised. “Leather wears out, but BLC shoes endure. A pair purchased today could last a decade without losing its style or elegance. We curate designs to suit our customers’ lifestyle; they’re classy, contemporary, and distinct.”

BLC also offers boots, sandals, slippers, belts, wallets, and cardholders, providing customers with a comprehensive leather experience.

Customers at the event praised BLC’s service. A long-time customer, Adekanbi Adedipo, said, “Shopping at BLC has always been an experience. Even online, their service was impeccable. Now with a physical store, the ambiance and attention to customers are outstanding.”

Head of Customer Service Temitope Jinadu said the brand’s appeal lies in both quality and customer experience.

“Beyond Leather: Culture is more than leather; it’s a culture. Customers come back not just for quality but for the experience. That sense of trust and community is what sets us apart,” he said.

On the future of the leather industry in Nigeria, Mrs Isichei said the sector is evolving with more local producers and fairs. She noted BLC’s long-term plan to localise production while maintaining high quality.

“We currently oversee production closely, albeit abroad. Eventually, we aim to achieve the production and supply value chain entirely within Nigeria,” she said.

BLC’s launch signals a push towards premium leather products and modern luxury experiences in Nigeria, emphasizing craftsmanship, style, and a strong sense of community.
