…says defectors to APC misguided, plotting return
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Dr. Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor, has emerged as the consensus candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State to challenge Governor Sheriff Oborevwori during the 2027 general elections.
He was the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice under the administration of the immediate past Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. He emerged unopposed after becoming the only aspirant to purchase, submit and secure clearance for the party’s governorship nomination form.
He will have the likes of Emmanuel Unuafe of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Felix Obuseh of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) that have emerged as candidates ot their respective parties to contend with during the exercise.
Mrakpor’s emergence in Asaba attracted prominent figures within the party, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed, the National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu, South-South zone Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Kingsley Otuaro, members of the party’s Board of Trustees, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and members of the electoral committee.
