Kuje Lights Up With Colour, Festivity As Egbira Community Crowns New Ohi-Egbira


Kuje Area Council in Abuja, lit up with colour and culture, as the Egbira community crowned Alhaji Abubakar Gambo Ibrahim, the Ohi-Egbira of Kuje.

The coronation which took place at the UBE Primary School, along Prison Road, Passali, was the climax of a series of activities – that began since May 10, marking the turbaning of the Ohi-Egbira by the Gomo of Kuje, His Royal Highness, Dr Tanko Jibrin II.

The coronation further witnessed the launching of the Okata Egbira Association’s almanac, and the turbaning of 26 new title holders for the Egbira Traditional Council in Kuje. Among those turbaned are Mallam Ohitoto (Ondaki Ogbani), Abdullahi Ada Dauda (Ohimozi Ogbani) and Architect Salihu Musa (Omukama Ogbani).

In his post-turbaning remark, the newly installed Ohi-Egbira of Kuje, Gambo Ibrahim urged the title holders to live up to the expectations of their positions, emphasizing integrity and service. He also pledged to serve the Egbira community with dedication and fairness.

Dignitaries present at the event include the Ohi-Egbira of Chibiri, Barrister Yakubu Galadima, the Ciroma of Toto, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Maikaya, and the Managing Director of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Alhaji Usman Shehu. Also present are the representatives of the Chairman of the Kuje Area Council, Honourable Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, and the Gomo of Kuje, His Royal Highness, Dr Tanko Jibrin II.
