Mastercard celebrates UEFA final with exclusive events

Payment platform Mastercard brought the thrill of Europe’s club football tournament to Nigeria with an exclusive live screening of the UEFA Champions League Final between Inter Milan and PSG at The Palms Mall, Lekki.

In a statement on Wednesday, Mastercard said the screening was part of its 2025 Africa Football Passion campaign and offered a vibrant platform for business leaders, corporate partners, and key stakeholders to connect, celebrate, and explore new opportunities.

“Football is more than a sport in Nigeria; it’s a language of unity, pride and passion,” said Country Manager and Area Business Head for West Africa at Mastercard, Dr Folasade Femi-Lawal. “Through our Africa Football Passion campaign, Mastercard created opportunities for fans to feel seen, heard and celebrated.

At Mastercard, we go beyond transactions to deliver truly unique experiences, connecting consumers to what they love most.”

With more than 30 years as a global sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, Mastercard continues to leverage the power of sport to foster meaningful connections that transcend borders. The Lagos event embodied this vision, merging global football excitement with local energy and business collaboration.
