The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission on Wednesday inaugurated its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit at its headquarters in Abuja.

In a press statement signed by the Head of Information and Public Relations Unit at RMAFC, Maryam Yusuf, the commission announced the formal induction of ACTU members, with a clear charge to uphold integrity, transparency, and ethical governance in the agency’s operations.

RMAFC Chairman, Dr Mohammed Shehu, was represented by the Federal Commissioner for Kwara State, Hon. Ismail Agaka, who urged members of the new unit to “handle their responsibilities with passion and patriotism.”

He called on them to approach their duties “with commitment to national interest, diligence, due process, and vision for prosperity.”

Shehu said ACTU would bolster RMAFC’s efforts to entrench transparency, accountability, and prudence in its operations.

“The inauguration of this Unit will not only complement management’s internal controls, but also drive home the Commission’s zero tolerance for corruption,” he added, urging members to display professionalism, courage, and fairness in their work.

In a goodwill message, the chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Dr Musa Aliyu, was represented by Mr Olusegun Adigun, director of the System Study and Review Department, who commended RMAFC’s leadership for establishing ACTU.

He described the unit as a strategic tool to support the commission’s mandate and outlined its responsibilities, including conducting corruption risk assessments, fostering ethical compliance, monitoring budget implementation, and carrying out preliminary investigations into complaints.

He called on RMAFC to provide adequate funding, office facilities, and full representation in standing committees to empower the unit.

The director of audit at RMAFC and chairman of ACTU, Mr Idris Musa, pledged on behalf of members to uphold integrity and the values of the commission.

Secretary to the Commission, Joseph Nweze, was represented by Mrs Udodirim Okongwu, director of the Inland Revenue Department, who commended all stakeholders for their support and urged ACTU members to promote ethical governance within the commission.
