Singer Speed Darlington Risks Arrest Over Alleged Confession To Sleeping With Minor

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has responded to a viral video in which controversial singer Darlington Okoye, popularly called Speed Darlington, allegedly admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl during an Instagram Live session.

In a statement issued via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the agency clarified that the entertainer did not disclose the specific location of the alleged incident, but it has escalated the matter beyond its jurisdiction for possible action.

The statement read in part, “The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) is aware of the disturbing video currently circulating online, in which a popular entertainer allegedly admits to engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

“While the individual in question did not specify the location of the incident during the Instagram Live session, we must clarify that the DSVA’s jurisdiction is limited to Lagos State.

“In view of the above, and in line with our commitment to justice, we have escalated the situation to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).”

Reaffirming its commitment to protecting minors, the DSVA emphasised the Lagos State Government’s zero-tolerance stance on sexual and gender-based violence.

It urged members of the public who may have relevant information to assist with ongoing investigations.

Citizens were advised to reach the DSVA through its toll-free line, 08000-333-333, or send a direct message on any verified social media platform.

The statement added that NAPTIP can also be contacted directly via email at [email protected] or phone: 07030000203.
