Informa Markets unveils Lagos brands

Informa Markets, an event organisation, has unveiled its healthcare exhibitions in Nigeria, Medic West Africa and Medlab West Africa, rebranded as WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos.

The company noted in a statement that its rebranded healthcare events signal “a transformative step” for healthcare and laboratory events across West Africa.

The events are scheduled to be held from June 2 to 4, 2025, in Lagos, with Informa stating that it has received support from the Federal Ministry of Health and major professional associations in the sector.

According to the company, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Dr Muhammad Pate, has endorsed its exhibitions, which aim to deepen collaboration and drive innovation in Nigeria’s medical and laboratory industries.

Director of WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos, Tom Coleman, described the new identity as a bold evolution from the 11-year-old Medic West Africa brand.

“The rebranding of Medic West Africa and Medlab West Africa to WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos marks a transformative step in bolstering the healthcare and laboratory sectors in Nigeria and the broader West African region,” Coleman said.

He added that the new WHX platform will enhance connections between healthcare professionals and industry leaders while providing a space to showcase cutting-edge technologies and medical innovations.

Conference Director of WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos, Cynthia Makarutse, explained that the event will offer deeper engagement through a more robust conference programme, stating, “WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos will not only showcase world-class medical and laboratory technologies but, crucially, will foster vital connections and collaborations that will drive healthcare innovation across West Africa.”

Makarutse added that the event will feature interactive sessions, expert speakers, and deep dives into pressing issues affecting healthcare delivery in the region.

Informa said co-locating WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos will create a single platform for stakeholders, ranging from policymakers to procurement officers, to engage with the latest solutions in medical equipment, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and digital health.
