Mikano Motors launches Changan X7 Plus, CS 95

Head of African Sales at Changan, Stephanie Wang, has said the company has sold over 2.5 million vehicles globally in the first 11 months of 2024, with new energy vehicle sales exceeding 640,000 units.

She added that the company’s overseas sales amounted to 340,000 units, marking a year-on-year growth of 53 per cent.

Wang made this announcement at the launch of two luxury vehicles, Changan CS95 and Changan X7 Plus.

At the event graced by business partners, customers, and brand ambassadors, Wang stated that “Changan’s success in 2024 is a direct reflection of our customer-centred, product-focused, and market-orientated philosophy,” adding that “These achievements are not just numbers; they represent our dedication to quality, innovation, and expanding our global presence.”

She added that Changan’s strategic global expansion has been marked by initiatives like the establishment of a Middle East and Africa base in Dubai, part of the company’s vast ocean plan.” The company has also opened a parts distribution centre in Jebel Ali Free Zone in collaboration with Hellmann, a German logistics giant.

“The warehouse, with an initial capacity of 2,000 square meters, will cater to the growing demands of the Middle Eastern and African markets, significantly reducing the lead time for spare parts from 60 days to just five days.”

She hinted at the company’s plan to expand the warehouse to over 10,000 square meters by 2025, positioning the centre to become an industry leader.

“This is just the beginning. With strong partnerships like the one we have with Mikano International; we will continue to grow and build Changan into the leading Chinese automotive brand in this region,” she added.

Speaking on the launch of its X7 Plus and New CS95 models in the Nigerian market, the Head of African Sales at Shangan stressed that the development is another milestone in the company’s journey to become a dominant force in Africa’s automotive industry.

“We are excited to introduce these globally recognised models, including our new energy vehicles, which are set to offer top-tier ownership experiences and after-sales service,” Wang projected.

Also speaking at the event, Executive Director, Mikano International Limited, Omar Karameh, expressed excitement over the new feat, saying the company was determined to redefine the automotive experience in Nigeria and the region at large when Mikano Motors started barely two years ago as the official dealers of the Changan brand.

Karameh also ascribed the pillars of their successes to their commitment to accessibility and service.

He said, “When we launched Mikano Motors just two short years ago as the official dealer for the Changan brand, we had a bold vision: to redefine the automotive experience in [our country/region] and to set a new standard of excellence. Changan, a globally renowned brand with over six decades of engineering expertise, brought to the table vehicles that perfectly balance innovation, style, reliability, and affordability. We knew we had the right partner, and we knew we had the right mission.

“In just two years, Mikano Motors has risen to become a leader in the automotive market, a milestone we are incredibly proud of. This achievement speaks to the strength of the Changan brand, the trust of our clients, and the relentless dedication of our team. From the sleek sophistication of the Changan CS series to the versatile and robust Eado and Alsvin models, our vehicles have become trusted companions across industries—most notably in the banking and telecom sectors.

“One of the pillars of our success has been our commitment to accessibility and service. Today, we stand as a truly nationwide presence, with a network of dealers, showrooms, and service centres strategically located to meet the needs of our customers wherever they are. Our latest showroom in Kano is a testament to this commitment. It is the largest automotive facility of its kind in the region, and it symbolises our dedication to bringing world-class automotive solutions closer to our customers.”
