Zamfara Gov’s Aide, Kaura, Docked Over Defamation Of Character

A Special Assistant on Media and Communication to Zamfara State Governor, Hon. Mustapha Jafaru Kaura has been dragged to Magistrate Court (I) Gusau by a former member of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Alasan Kanoma over alleged defamation of character.

Speaking to newsmen outside the courtyard, Counsel to the complainant, Barrister Surajo Garba Gusau, filed a case before the court on behalf of his client over alleged defamation of character, inciting disturbances and threat to life.

Barrister Gusau, further explained that, the court has already fixed Tuesday, April 21, 2026, as date for mentioning of the case, but learned that the accused has not been served with the notice yet as the court messenger did his best but could not reach out to the defendant.

Based on that, we prayed the court to order substituted service, and the court virtually granted our application and directed the registry to fix the summons notice on either the entrance or a strategic place on the wall of the defendant’s house.

“The substituted service is also extended to even houses of his relatives as the Court adjourned the case to 27/04/2026 for further mention”, the Counsel has added.
