Zamfara First Lady Urges Vigilance Over Children

Zamfara State Governor’s wife, Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has extended her warmest felicitations to the Muslim Ummah across Zamfara State and Nigeria on the auspicious occasion of 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Reflecting on the profound spiritual significance of Eid-el-Kabir which symbolises supreme sacrifice, obedience, love and compassion, Huriyya urged Muslims to offer sincere prayers for lasting peace, unity and stability in Zamfara State and the nation at large.

She prays that the blessings of this holy season bring joy, security and prosperity to every home.

In a colourful intersection of celebrations, the first lady while congratulating children across the state as they mark 2026 Children’s Day, described them as the invaluable future leaders and ambassadors of our society.

Huriyya called on parents, guardians and communities to take absolute care of their children by closely monitoring their movements, peer associations and moral activities.

She emphasised that, protecting youths from negative societal influences requires active vigilance, intentional mentorship and a foundation rooted in good morals and sound education.

The Governor’s wife has strongly encouraged families to use this festive period to strengthen biological and communal bonds by visiting relatives and fostering kinship.

Furthermore, she reminded the faithful that true obedience to God is reflected in how we treat the vulnerable. She called on those who are blessed to look around their neighbourhoods and actively assist the needy, ensuring that the joy of Sallah touches the less privileged in our communities.

Huriyya distributed extensive Sallah welfare packages, including cows, rams, essential foodstuffs, and cash assistance to various Muslim religious organisations, vulnerable persons, foundations, and support groups across the state.

Beneficiaries of the intervention included FOMWAN, MSO, NASFAT, female political support groups, youth associations and several humanitarian foundations, all aimed at easing the financial burden on families during this festive period.

Reaffirming her commitment to initiatives that promote the well-being, protection, and empowerment of women, children, and vulnerable groups in Zamfara State, she prays for Almighty God’s continued guidance upon the state’s leadership and wishes everyone a peaceful, secure and joyful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
