Wike Mulls Sanctions For Defaulters

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, yesterday said he won’t rule out the possibility of sanctioning those responsible for the water scarcity that hit some parts of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

Wike who disclosed this yesterday, after inspecting some road projects at Tungan-Madaki, a community close to Abuja Airport, also revealed that the water scarcity was as a result of damages to major water pipelines and caused by private developers in the area.

The minister stated that while his administration has taken responsibility for the water scarcity and is working already to fix it, he vowed to deepen investigation into the issue and give appropriate sanctions.

While he appealed to residents for patience, he also assured that the administration would not tolerate negligence or sabotage affecting public utilities.
