Wike Expresses Satisfaction Over PDP’s Primaries

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday, expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the ongoing primaries of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) nationwide.

Wike, who is also the national leader of the party, spoke in Abuja on Tuesday immediately after inspecting some of the projects completed and lined up for the 3rd anniversary celebration of President Bola Tinubu.

“All I know is that we have completed our screening, and the primaries are going on. INEC officials were present at the primaries, and I am happy with the way the PDP is conducting the process,” Wike said.

The Minister, while declining to talk about the primaries of the Turaki-led faction of the PDP, however, noted that he was sure that the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) would not honour their invitation.

He said, “ I do not know about the other side. What I know is that we have completed our screening, and the primaries are ongoing.

“People have been asking questions about the primaries, but let us see how they conduct theirs.

“ I have always said that people can be very mischievous. Some people complained, asking why the screening venue was not announced at the Hilton.

“But we clearly announced where the screenings and primaries would take place.

“They should also publish their own arrangements. I do not know how you got your information. I wonder how close you are to them anyway. I do not think INEC will take such risks. I do not think so.”
