On Saturday, Liverpool coach, Arne Slot said Mohamed Salah “Deserves a big send-off”, confirming he expected the departing superstar to return from injury before the season is over.
The Egyptian forward, who will depart Anfield at the end of the season, was substituted out of last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at home, raising concerns that it might have been his last game for the Reds.
As he left the field, an emotional Salah thanked the supporters and received a standing ovation.
However, Liverpool stated earlier this week that the 33-year-old had merely had a “minor muscle injury” and was anticipated to play again.
