Why I Don’t Pay Tithe To Church


Nollywood actor, Azubuike Michael Egwu, popularly known as Zubby Michael, has revealed that he recently donated N10.2 million directly to people in need, describing the gesture as his personal tithe.

In an interview with Broadway TV, the actor said 10.2 million is the tithe of 120 million naira he made recently from acting.

Michael stated that he doesn’t go to church or pay tithes to religious organisations, opting instead to assist individuals in need directly.

“For now, I am the richest actor. The last time I checked my book, I realised that I have made N102 million from artists’ fees lately. Not in my whole career, but just recently.”

He mentioned that a recent assessment of his income revealed he earned N102 million from acting fees in a brief timeframe, not throughout his entire career.

The actor also referred to himself as the wealthiest in Nollywood, emphasising his recent monetary achievements.

“I donated N10.2 million, which is 10 per cent of the money, to the needy on the street.

“I don’t pay tithe to the church. I don’t go to church. I don’t believe in paying tithe to the church,” he said.
