Popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, has reacted to the recent killings and abductions in Obomoso, Oyo State and other parts of Nigeria, describing the situation as heartbreaking and unacceptable.
In an emotional statement on Wednesday, the actress said the violence feels personal to her because of her strong ties to Oyo State through family, culture, and longstanding connections with the people.
“My heart is deeply heavy over the painful killings and abductions happening in Oyo State and across different parts of Nigeria,” she said.
Toyin Abraham lamented the loss of innocent lives, the growing fear among school children, and the trauma experienced by affected communities following attacks in Oriire Local Government Area and subsequent killing of one of the abducted school teachers by the gunmen.

“It is heartbreaking to see innocent lives lost, families thrown into mourning, children living in fear and communities traumatized by violence,” she added.
The actress sympathised with families of victims and those whose loved ones remain in captivity, insisting that no Nigerian should live in fear or insecurity.
She also commended security agencies and the Oyo State Government for their efforts while calling for more urgent action to secure the release of abducted victims and prevent future attacks.
“I want to sincerely commend the efforts of the security agencies and the Oyo State Government but it is important to appeal for more urgent and decisive actions to secure the release of those still in captivity and strengthen the protection of lives and communities,” she stated.
Toyin Abraham further urged Nigerians to remain united and compassionate during the difficult period, stressing that violence must never become normalised in society.
