One of Nigeria’s finest actors, Tobi Bakre, switched his style from formal suit to Agbada at the just concluded African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
His stole the spotlight on the red carpet with a regal, custom reimagined Agbádá Ìlèkè. His standout cultural ensemble was one of the most talked-about fashion statements of the event.
He wore a modern interpretation of a traditional Yoruba Agbádá, heavily inspired by the attire worn by traditional rulers and elites from the 1950s.
Style critics said the garment which is completely made for royalty was created from monogrammed canvas denim by designers Deji & Kola, featuring layered intricate details and weighing about 8kg.
The main accessory that put the actor on spotlight was his beaded necklace and the unique signature walking stick which looks like it’s made with three king’s crowns.
