Tizeti Restructures Leadership for Broadband Expansion

Tizeti Network Limited, a Nigerian wireless and fibre internet service provider, has restructured its leadership team as it prepares for a new phase of expansion focused on scaling broadband access and deepening its fibre footprint.

The company said the changes, effective July 1, 2026, are designed to support a more specialised operating model as it accelerates nationwide network deployment and adapts to increasing competition in the broadband market.

As part of the overhaul, Ikenna Uche, currently Chief Technical Officer, will assume the role of managing director, taking responsibility for day-to-day operations, network execution and service delivery. The move places operational control in the hands of a long-time technical leader as the company shifts towards execution at scale.

The restructuring also includes a series of senior appointments aimed at strengthening key functions. Modupe Sapaye has been named chief financial officer, reflecting the company’s transition into a more capital-intensive phase of growth. Amadi Ama takes on the role of vice-president for marketing, where he will lead brand strategy, customer acquisition and expansion across consumer and enterprise segments.

In addition, Emmanuel Agosu has been appointed Vice-President for FreeFiber, a role focused on driving the company’s fibre access expansion strategy, while Ijem Okolugbo becomes Vice-President for operations, overseeing network performance, service delivery and field execution across Tizeti’s infrastructure footprint.

Chief Executive of Tizeti, Kendall Ananyi, said the company had reached a level of scale where separating strategic leadership from operational execution had become necessary.

“Tizeti Network Limited has reached a scale where separating strategic leadership from operational execution is critical,” he said in a statement. “This structure allows us to move faster on network expansion, deepen operational focus, and maintain the discipline required to build long-term infrastructure at scale.”

Ananyi added that Uche’s technical background and experience in network deployment made him well-suited to lead the next stage of growth.

Uche brings more than two decades of experience in telecommunications and internet services across Nigeria and West Africa. He has previously held senior roles at Vodacom-Mobax and Reliance Telecom and has led core network operations, infrastructure rollout and large-scale service delivery within Tizeti.

The leadership changes come as Tizeti ramps up investment in its fibre network and expands its FreeFiber.ng platform, part of a broader strategy to increase access to affordable high-speed internet. The company operates in a market where demand for reliable broadband continues to rise, driven by digital services, remote work and enterprise connectivity needs.

By separating operational execution from strategic oversight, Tizeti is positioning itself to scale more efficiently while maintaining focus on long-term infrastructure development. The company said the changes would improve coordination across business units and enhance its ability to deliver consistent service as its network expands.

With competition intensifying among internet service providers in Nigeria, the ability to execute large-scale rollouts while maintaining service quality is becoming a key differentiator. Tizeti’s leadership overhaul signals a renewed focus on operational discipline as it seeks to strengthen its position in the market.

The company said the new structure would support its ambition to build a broader digital infrastructure backbone, as it continues to expand coverage and improve connectivity for households and businesses across the country.
