Surviving Domestic Violence Inspired Me — Ayo Adesanya


Nollywood actress, Ayo Adesanya, has revealed that her personal experiences, including surviving domestic violence, inspired her to start her podcast, ‘Real Life With Aunty Ayo’.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Adesanya noted that she is driven by a desire to establish a secure environment for mutual education and healing.

I’ve experienced domestic abuse, and I enjoy sharing the experiences of others. If at all possible, I want us to grow and heal together.

She remarked, “I enjoy learning about people’s struggles—what they are going through in life and how we can overcome them.”

Speaking further, the actress described the opportunity to have people open up to her as deeply meaningful.

“It’s a new field for me, but I studied Communication and Language Arts at the University of Ibadan, so I already have the background.

“The fact that people are able to open up to me is a privilege. Being able to bring people on the show to talk about these issues means a lot.

“Years ago, we couldn’t discuss some of these things openly. It shows we have come a long way,” she added.
