Former Nasarawa State Secretary to the Government (SSG) Timothy Anjide yesterday led a delegation to submit the nomination form to Governor Abdullahi Sule to contest the 2027 Nasarawa North senatorial poll under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking to reporters after the submission, he said Sule bowed to pressure from stakeholders and residents of the zone to contest the election.
According to Anjide, the zone comprising Akwanga, Nasarawa-Eggon and Wamba LGAs unanimously asked the governor to represent them at the Senate.
He said although Sule would have preferred to personally submit his nomination form, supporters insisted on doing so on his behalf as a demonstration of collective endorsement.
Anjide said: “We are here on behalf of Governor Abdullahi Sule, who is vying for the senatorial seat of Nasarawa North. “The people have unanimously called on him to contest this position, even against his personal wish and desire.”
He expressed confidence that Sule’s candidacy would enjoy widespread support, stressing that the governor’s track record in office had endeared him to the people.
