Sokoto ADC Candidate Pledges Open-Door Govt

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Sokoto State, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’iya has reaffirmed his commitment to running an open-door, inclusive, and people-oriented government if elected in the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Dan’iya made the pledge while receiving ADC leaders from the three senatorial zones of Sokoto State during a Sallah courtesy visit to his residence.

Speaking during the visit, the ADC gubernatorial candidate said his administration would be founded on transparency, consultation, accountability, and responsiveness to the needs and aspirations of the people.

According to him, “Government exists to serve the people, not the other way round. Our administration will maintain an open-door policy and a listening ear, ensuring that governance reflects the genuine needs, priorities, and aspirations of citizens rather than the desires of a privileged few.”

He emphasised that meaningful development can only be achieved when the government remains connected to the people and actively engages stakeholders in decision-making.

“In a democratic setting, the people are the government. Without their trust, support, and participation, sustainable development cannot be achieved. Leadership must be compassionate, accessible, and responsive to the concerns of citizens,” he added.

Hon. Dan’iya noted that Sokoto State deserves a government that prioritises public welfare, security, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and economic development. He stressed that the ADC is prepared to provide credible and responsible leadership capable of addressing the challenges facing the state.

The ADC candidate further urged party leaders and members across the three senatorial zones to remain united, committed, and focused on strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He expressed confidence that Nigerians are increasingly seeking alternatives that will deliver effective governance, economic opportunities, and improved living conditions.

“The task before us is to build a stronger and more inclusive political movement that reflects the hopes and aspirations of our people. We must continue to engage communities, promote our vision, and demonstrate that better governance is possible,” he stated.

Hon. Dan’iya thanked the delegation for the Sallah homage and their continued loyalty to the party, assuring them that the ADC remains committed to providing a platform for good governance, peace, development, and social justice.

Earlier, the ADC leaders from the three senatorial zones, led by Prof. Aminu Abubakar Illela, Hon. Abubakar Sadik Sanyinna, and Hon. Kabiru Hali, congratulated Hon. Dan’iya on the successful Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and reaffirmed their unwavering support for the growth and success of the party.

The leaders pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation and political engagement across their zones to ensure the success of the ADC at all levels in the 2027 general elections.

They also commended Hon. Dan’iya’s leadership qualities, accessibility, and vision, expressing confidence in his capacity to provide purposeful leadership and advance the development of Sokoto State.

The meeting was attended by the ADC State Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Maigwandu, members of the State Executive Committee, party stakeholders, and numerous party faithful from across the state.
