Nation Building: Top 10 Nigerian Changemakers Shine At Luminary 2026 Awards


The top 10 Nigerian social impact Changemakers were honoured at the third edition of the Luminary Project Awards, which recently took place in Lagos.

The awardees were recognised by the organisers for their diverse range of initiatives aimed at addressing critical societal issues and advancing solutions aligned with sustainable development, community progress and nation building.

The event that took place on Saturday, May 16 in Lagos brought together changemakers, development leaders, innovators, creatives, and community builders committed to shaping a better future for Nigeria through service, innovation, and social impact.

The event, according to the organisers, served as a powerful gathering to recognize and celebrate The Luminary Project’s top 10 changemakers creating meaningful change across sectors, including education, health, community development, youth empowerment, sustainability, innovation, and social enterprise.

The ceremony featured inspiring stories of resilience, leadership, and transformation from changemakers whose work continues to impact lives and communities despite systemic challenges.

The guests were not left out as they experienced an atmosphere of reflection, celebration, connection, and renewed commitment to nation-building through collaborative action and intentional service.

The event was attended by notable social impact enthusiasts, including GTM Manager MTN, Funmilola Akinteye; Senior Partner Success Manager AWS, Ebere Nkoro; Head of Job Creation and Placement, Eliezer Ajah, 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT), development partners, ecosystem leaders, creatives, and media representatives.

Their presence further reinforced the growing commitment toward community-driven transformation in Nigeria.

Speaking during the event, Executive Director of The Luminary Project, Napa Onwusah, emphasized the importance of recognizing individuals who are solving real problems and creating sustainable impact within their communities.
