Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement to appoint a new manager to replace the departing Arne Slot, with Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola said to be close to taking over at Anfield.
According to New Telegraph, the Reds are advancing towards confirming Iraola as their next manager following Slot’s dismissal.
Slot’s exit comes after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign, in which Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League, their lowest league position in nearly a decade.
Despite guiding the club to the title in his debut season, Slot was unable to replicate that success, as Liverpool endured an inconsistent and underwhelming defence of their crown, characterised by erratic performances and an unusually high number of defeats.
Following a comprehensive end-of-season review, the club hierarchy concluded that a managerial change was necessary as they look to reset ahead of the new campaign.
