Lagos PDP Aspirant Deepens Party Stakeholders’ Engagement

Meets state, South West excos, others

A frontline People’s Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant in Lagos State, Prince Laja Adeoye, has held a strategic meeting with critical party stakeholders in the state and South West as part of his consensus- building and momentum- gathering engagements.

In a statement issued by his Campaign Office, the meeting with Lagos PDP executives, South West executives, State PDP women committee, and the youth wing of the Lagos PDP took place at the State Party secretariat in Ikeja on Friday.

Saturday Telegraph recalls that he had earlier met with the apex leader of the party, Chief Olabode George, the forum of Local Government Chairmen of the party and other critical stakeholders across Lagos State, in his ongoing consultation drive.

During the high-level interface, Prince Adeoye formally presented his vision for Lagos, centred on the BETTER LAGOS 2027 AGENDA, codenamed Àtúntò Èkó 1.0.

He used the occasion to outline key pillars of the blueprint designed to rescue Lagos from years of misrule and position the state as a truly prosperous, inclusive, and globally competitive mega-city.

Prince Laja Adeoye announced that he would soon unveil the full Àtúntò Èkó 1.0 blueprint in a grand ceremony and promised to invite the PDP State Excos, critical stakeholders, traditional leaders, students, business leaders, captains of industry, CEOs, and ordinary Lagosians to witness the official presentation of this transformative document that will chart a new path for Lagos.

The State executives, led by Dr Amos Fawole, warmly received Prince Adeoye and his team.

They commended Prince Laja Adeoye for his steady and consistent campaign, which has continued to project the PDP as the only credible and viable alternative to the ruling party in the eyes of Lagosians.

They particularly appreciated his unwavering loyalty and commitment to the party at this critical moment when the PDP is facing internal challenges, a challenge he said that would soon be over.

According to them, while some aspirants chose to defect to other parties and others have remained silent or inactive, Prince Laja Adeoye has stood firmly with the PDP, believing strongly in its ideals and future.

The State Excos, through Dr Amos Fawole, promised to give Prince Laja Adeoye their full support and backing when he finally emerges as a candidate to ensure the party emerges victorious in the 2027 general elections.

The PDP Youth Wing, led by the State Youth Leader, Mr Saheed Olatunji Kewulere (Osama), in a separate engagement, equally expressed strong solidarity.

He described Prince Adeoye’s direct engagement with youth leaders across all 20 Local Government Areas as refreshing and highly inclusive.

“We are fully committed to giving Prince Laja Adeoye our total support, loyalty, and dedication,” Osama said.

“We will work tirelessly to ensure the PDP records a resounding victory in 2027. A young, vibrant, competent, and experienced technocrat with deep grassroots connections like Prince Laja Adeoye is exactly what Lagos needs.”

Kewulere said the party youths aligned with the key pillars of the Better Lagos 2027 Agenda (Àtúntò Èkó 1.0) of Adeoye, which he described as a practical and actionable roadmap for genuine transformation.

The major pillars according to Adeoye’s policy document include: “Massive affordable housing revolution through public-private partnerships (PPP), innovative financing, and sustainable urban planning to end the housing deficit, reduce slums, and tackle flooding.

“Modernisation of infrastructure and transportation, including expanded rail networks, improved Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, and extensive road construction across the IBILE divisions.

“Comprehensive power and energy reforms to ensure a more reliable electricity supply for residents and businesses.

“Enhanced security via community-based policing, technology-driven solutions, and better coordination.

“Improved healthcare delivery with greater access, especially for women, children, and the elderly.

“Education reform focusing on infrastructure upgrades, vocational training, digital learning, and better opportunities for the youth.

“Robust economic diversification and job creation through support for SMEs and the informal sector, development of technology hubs, promotion of entrepreneurship, tourism, agriculture, the ocean economy, and industrial clusters, all aimed at generating millions of sustainable jobs and reducing over-reliance on federal allocations.

“Civil service reforms to boost efficiency, staff welfare, and reward systems. Sustainable waste management, environmental protection, and promotion of local government autonomy.”

The PDP State Excos and Youth Wings expressed confidence that if elected in 2027, Prince Laja Adeoye will be the best Governor Lagos has ever had.

They noted his proven excellence in business, his unifying ability to rally all segments of the party, old and young, and his deep understanding of Lagos challenges, describing him as the finest product and brand the PDP can present to Lagosians.

The Youth forum issued a strong call to all party leaders at state, zonal, and national levels, including the NWC led by Alhaji Taminu Turaki (SAN), the Board of Trustees (BOT), and the National Executive Committee (NEC), to rally behind Prince Laja Adeoye as the consensus candidate the PDP and Lagosians cannot afford to miss.

“We want to use this opportunity to pass a vote of confidence on our leader, Engr Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, for his good leadership and role in stabilising the party in South West and Nigeria as a whole.

“His effort at ensuring that the party emerge victorious in the forthcoming general election in 2027 is being noted.History will be kind to him.”

The youth forum emphasised that, at this critical time, when some have abandoned the party and others have gone silent, Prince Laja Adeoye has remained a loyal, homegrown PDP man, consistently promoting and supporting the party against all odds.

The forum equally urged all Lagosians, across business communities, ethnic groups, traditional institutions, and political divides, to close ranks and support Prince Laja Adeoye. His Better Lagos 2027 Agenda (Àtúntò Èkó 1.0) promises to rescue the state from current hardships, create inclusive prosperity, empower the youth and women, support underserved communities, and restore hope through accountable, people-focused governance.

In his response, Adeoye thanked the party leadership, State Excos, Youth and Women Wings for their warm reception and strong encouragement. He promised equitable development across all parts of Lagos State and assured them that he will not disappoint, especially the youth, being one of them.

“The youth demography, which I also belong to, numbers in millions in Lagos. I will be a good ambassador in leadership and governance that all of you will be proud of.

“The party will be happy to have me as the first elected Governor of Lagos State from the PDP,” he said.
