Kwara APC Stakeholders Harp On Consensus Decision 


Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have called on members of the party in the 16 Local Government Areas and 193 wards of the State to rally behind the collective decision of the party on the consensus arrangements for the 2027 governorship race.

Speaking when members of the Ilorin South Progressives Caucus endorsed the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and declared support for Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) as governorship candidate for the State come 2027 general elections, the Chairman of the group, Hon. Oladimeji Mustapha, said that the call was made in the interest of equity, fairness, and sustained progress.

The people, who canvassed continuity, loyalty, and purposeful leadership ahead of the 2027 pol00ls, said that those who have laboured for the growth of the party and the stability of the State deserve recognition and support.

A public affairs analyst, Issa Alfulani, who moved a motion for endorsement of Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) as the preferred and consensus candidate for the Kwara State governorship in 2027, described BOB as a unifier, a builder of people.

Meanwhile, as the 2027 general elections draw closer, religious leaders in the Oyun local government area of Kwara state on Monday offered special prayers against untimely death for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa.

The interfaith prayer sessions, organised by the Oyun APC Solidarity Support for Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) as the next Kwara State governor and reelection of President Bola Tinubu, were led by Bishop Ola Ojo of the African Church, Erin Ile, and Chief Imam of Oke Mapo mosque, Erin Ile, Alhaji Suleiman Tajudeen Olowe.

The prayer session allowed offering prayers for safe and peaceful general elections

The clerics, who said that every happening before the general polls should be handed over to God, prayed against untoward happenings before, during and after the polls in the country.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, organised by the 11 wards of the Oyun Local Government Area, and signed by Alhaji Azeez Isiaka Afolabi, the group adopted Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa as the APC governorship candidate, and endorsed Tinubu for reelection in 2027.

The people called on all other governorship aspirants to rally round Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa to enable him to deliver the State to APC and appealed to Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman to support BOB to succeed him so that he (BOB) could continue with his good work.
