The Kebbi State Government on Sunday holds a special prayer session to commemorate the third anniversary of the administration of Governor Nasir Idris.
The prayer brought together eminent Islamic scholars, community leaders, government officials, and politicians, who offered special prayers for the continued success of the administration, the protection of the Governor, good health, peace, unity, and sustained development across the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Nasir Idris expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for His guidance, protection, and the remarkable progress recorded by the administration over the past three years.
He said the successes achieved by his government were manifestations of Allah’s blessings and the prayers consistently offered by the people of the state.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering belief in Allah, the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and the power of sincere prayers, noting that prayer has remained a cornerstone of his government’s approach to leadership and governance.
“We have always believed in Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), that is why we commit all our affairs to Almighty Allah. We believe in the power of prayers in whatever we do,” he said.
Governor Idris commended Islamic scholars and religious leaders for their steadfast support, guidance, and prayers for the state, describing their contributions as invaluable to the peace, stability, and development being witnessed in Kebbi State.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Bala, said the prayer session was organised to thank Almighty Allah for the achievements recorded by the administration and to seek divine guidance for greater accomplishments.
He disclosed that Islamic scholars in the state had designated May 29 as a special day of prayer in recognition of the Governor’s commitment to governance rooted in faith and service to humanity.
The Permanent Secretary emphasised the importance of continuous prayers for leaders, stressing that prayer remains a powerful tool for attaining peace, progress, and prosperity in society.
Special prayers were led by renowned Islamic scholars, including Malam Nazifi Abubakar, Prof. Abubakar Wali, Sheikh Aliyu Ladda Bunza, Malam Nataraba Yauri, Sheikh Usman Na’ayi Jega, and Sarkin Mallaman Gwandu Sheikh Ibrahim Wala among others.
