The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Kaduna Secretary of the State Appeals Committee, Dr Mikailu Barau, has rejected his chairman’s declaration on the governorship ticket.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Barau noted that the chairman acted alone in Abuja on Monday as the committee’s mandate was only to review petitions and advise the National Working Committee (NWC) and not to declare or change candidates.

He said he was excluded from the report submitted in Abuja and that key petitions from Jafar Sani and Prof. Sani Bello were ignored.

Barau insisted Isa Ashiru is still the duly elected candidate until the NWC decides otherwise.

This is as he calls on ADC national leaders to throw out the Abuja declaration and reconstitute the committee for a fairer process.
