The Northern Nigerian Election Monitoring Volunteers (NIMOV), Zamfara chapter, has commended political leaders in Zamfara State for demonstrating political maturity during the rescheduled State Assembly primary elections for Maradun I and II constituencies held on May 24.
The group noted that the peaceful atmosphere that characterised the exercise marked a significant departure from the tension and political unrest that often trail party primaries in many parts of the country.
According to NIMOV, the orderly conduct of party supporters and stakeholders in Maradun reflected growing democratic awareness and a collective determination to protect the sanctity of the electoral process.
In a statement issued after monitoring the exercise, Dr Mu’azu Na’allah Moriki, State Coordinator of NIMOV, said the maturity displayed by APC supporters throughout the primaries showed their loyalty, commitment, and confidence in the leadership of the party, particularly the Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, and the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal.
