Ebonyi Elders Council Endorse Gov Nwifuru 2nd Term Bid


Ebonyi State Elders Council comprised of renowned stakeholders, administrators and leaders of thought, has unanimously endorsed the second term bid of Governor Francis Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Chairman of the Council, Engr. Ben Okah, made this disclosure in Abakaliki the state capital on Thursday while fielding questions with newsmen on political developments in the state.

He noted that Nwifuru has laid a solid and concrete foundation that provided a credible and undisputed pathway to continued progress and success.

“Consequently, we unanimously resolve and unequivocally declare our unalloyed support for His Excellency’s second term bid in 2027.”

The Council Chairman emphasised that members have carefully reviewed the political developments and activities of the past few weeks, particularly as they relate to the processes surrounding the choice and selection of prospective candidates for the State and National Assembly elections.

He commended Nwifuru for the manner in which he handled, managed and resolved all issues arising from the processes thus reaffirming his role as the father of the state.

“As critical stakeholders in the State, we wish to express our profound appreciation and pride in his leadership and accomplishments thus far.

“We have observed with great satisfaction his depth of understanding, leadership capacity, and unwavering commitment to the peace, unity, and overall well-being of the people of Ebonyi State.

“His actions have demonstrated fairness, inclusiveness, and a sincere desire to promote the collective interest of all segments of Ebonyians.”

The council appealed to all those selected as consensus candidates to reach out to co-aspirants as a matter of urgency for possible reconciliation.

Members of the council present at the briefing included Chief Nduka Ozo, Chief Sunny Onyibe, Hon (Mrs) Dorathy Obasi, Chief Sylvester Nwambe among others.
