Coronation Launches Equity Fund for Nigerian Investors

Coronation Asset Management has launched the Coronation Equity Fund, an open-ended collective investment scheme designed to give investors exposure to the long-term growth potential of the Nigerian equities market.

A statement from the firm stated that the launch comes after a strong year for equities, with the NGX All-Share Index delivering a 51.19 per cent year-to-date return in 2025 and reaching historic highs, driven by improved corporate earnings, macroeconomic reforms, and renewed investor confidence.

The company noted that while investors who remained in the market benefited significantly, those on the sidelines missed substantial gains.

The Coronation Equity Fund is structured for investors seeking professionally managed exposure to Nigerian equities over the long term, with a focus on sustained wealth creation rather than short-term market cycles.

Managing Director of Coronation Asset Management, Aigbovbioise Aig-Imoukhuede, said the fund is designed to support disciplined, long-term investing.

“Nigeria continues to reward patient, disciplined investors.

The Coronation Equity Fund exists for those who are building something that lasts — wealth that compounds over time, guided by rigorous research and active portfolio management. Our role is to help clients transform their financial aspirations into enduring legacies,” he said.

The fund will invest at least 70 per cent of its assets in listed Nigerian equities, while maintaining flexibility to allocate part of its portfolio to fixed-income and money market instruments for liquidity management. Investment decisions will be based on a bottom-up stock selection approach, focusing on company fundamentals rather than index weighting or sector classification.

The minimum investment is ₦50,000, with additional subscriptions in multiples of ₦5,000. The minimum holding period is 180 days.

Investors can subscribe through the Coronation Wealth App, the Coronation Wealth Hub ( or by completing a physical subscription form at Coronation Plaza in Lagos.

The fund is custodied by Access Bank Plc and held in trust by Paxhill Minerva Limited, under regulatory oversight of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Coronation Asset Management said the fund is part of its broader suite of managed investment products, built on decades of financial services experience within the Coronation Group. It added that the launch reflects its focus on disciplined investing, research-driven strategies, and long-term wealth creation for investors.
