Church’ll Follow You In Prayers, Anglican Bishop Promises Obi


The Bishop of Kubwa, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Duke T. Akamisoko, has assured former presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, that the Church would follow him with prayers in his political pursuit.

The clergy man who spoke on Friday after receiving a cheque of N10 million, for the development of Anglican Church Hospital in Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja, commended Obi for his spirit of charity.

A statement issued by Ibrahim Umar, spokesperson of Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), quoted the former presidential candidate of describing health and education “As the engines of national progress,” because “It creates a feedback loop that accelerates economic growth, social stability, and human capital.

According to the statement, Obi described health as the foundational layer of human capital. “Without physical and mental well-being, investments in education and infrastructure yield diminishing returns,” Obi’s media office added.

It quoted the former Anambra State as stating that “A healthy child learns more effectively, leading to a more skilled future workforce.”

The statement said Obi also visited the hospital clinic and commiserated with some patients.
