Additionally, it honours a number of football-related countries, including the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, England, Germany, France, South Africa, Spain, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, and the Netherlands.
The anthem has a deeper meaning than just its catchy beat. The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which hopes to generate $100 million by the end of the event, will get all earnings from “Dai Dai.”
The fund aims to give kids all across the world access to high-quality education and football opportunities.
Sony Music has promised to match the first $250,000 raised with an additional payment, while Shakira has promised to give her own royalties to the cause.
Following her iconic singles “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” from the 2010 competition in South Africa and “La La La” from the 2014 event in Brazil, Shakira has triumphantly returned to the World Cup stage.
Burna Boy is only the second Nigerian musician to appear on an official World Cup song, following Davido’s 2022 appearance on “Hayya Hayya (Better Together),” hence the partnership has particular significance for Nigeria.
Nigerian celebrity Rema will be the main attraction at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Los Angeles on June 12, which will add to the excitement.
On July 19, Shakira will co-headline the tournament final’s inaugural halftime concert, which will bring together international musicians at the nexus of sport, culture, and purpose.
