Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has formally deepened his involvement in the Allied People’s Movement (APM) after attending his first National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party and obtaining the nomination form to contest the Bauchi South Senatorial seat.
The NEC meeting, presided over by the National Chairman of the party, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, brought together key stakeholders and members of the party leadership to deliberate on national and party matters.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Mohammed said the country’s political environment has become increasingly difficult due to what he described as undemocratic practices and political intimidation.
According to him, extensive consultations with political associates and supporters across the country informed the decision to adopt the APM as a new political platform.
The Governor stated that the party’s principles of internal democracy, justice, inclusiveness, and respect for the rule of law aligned with his political philosophy and aspirations.
He disclosed that several political office holders and stakeholders in Bauchi State had also joined the movement into the APM, including members of the National Assembly, state lawmakers, local government chairmen, commissioners, party officials, and grassroots supporters.
Mohammed described the development as a collective political movement aimed at strengthening the APM and expanding its national reach.
The event climaxed with the governor officially picking up his nomination form to contest for the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat under the platform of the APM ahead of the forthcoming elections.
