The Lagos State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Laja Adeoye, has launched his reset agenda to reposition governance in the state.
Speaking at the launch on Sunday, Adeoye said his agenda will re-engineer Lagos for inclusive prosperity.
He said this is a bold, fully integrated manifesto that connects every sector into one powerful ecosystem of transformation.
Recall that Adeoye and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, joined Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in forming an alliance with the APM.
Adeoye said, “We will deliver reliable power through Independent Power Projects and renewable energy; potable water for all; flood mitigation; modern infrastructure, including the 4th Mainland Bridge; affordable housing; and climate-resilient urban planning.
“World-class healthcare, quality education with emphasis on STEM and TVET, and robust social protection for the vulnerable will be prioritised.
The economic expansion will be driven by SME support, formalisation of the informal sector, tech hubs, creative industries, agriculture, the blue economy, and responsible natural resources development with new refineries and petrochemical plants.
“Security will be strengthened through state and community policing, Amotekun, and technology, while addressing root causes via youth and women empowerment.
“We will reform the civil service into a digital, performance-driven institution, grant full local government autonomy (converting the 37 LCDAs into full LGAs to reach 57), and establish transparent fiscal management with real-time publication of budgets.
“An inclusive Lagos State Elders and Advisory Council, comprising traditional rulers, religious leaders, business captains, market leaders, and past office holders, will replace the old Governor’s Advisory Council.
“Rule of law, anti-corruption, and contractor accountability will be non-negotiable. This agenda is backed by clear timelines, ring-fenced funding, public-private partnerships, Alternative Project Funding Approach (APFA) and strict accountability.
“We will attract a minimum of $100 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) through strategic economic diplomacy in our first few years of taking power, grow and expand the Lagos economy to truly create the megacity we have hoped for decades.
“Fellow Lagosians, from the business community to students, youth groups, women’s organisations, traditional institutions, religious bodies, and every ethnic nationality that calls Lagos home, I call on you to rally behind APM, the party that prioritises your welfare and interest first. We are the change you have been yearning for.
“The people desperately want a change from the APC to the APM, the growing anger of the people from the length and breadth of Lagos confirms this, as people are tired of the imposition of grossly misfit on them as governor every four years by those who feel Lagos has become their personal inheritance.
“To every Lagosian, I promise good governance, security, affordable housing, massive job creation, pro-people policies, quality healthcare, and shared prosperity.
“Together, we will move Lagos from challenges to solutions, from darkness to light, from congestion to connectivity, from insecurity to safety, and from survival to shared prosperity.
“Lagos is blessed with dynamic people, a strategic location, and enormous potential. What it needs now is visionary, inclusive, transparent, and accountable leadership. I am ready to provide that leadership.”
On his part, the Coalition Chairman of PDP-APM Alliance in the state, Amos Fawole, said the time has come for the people to form a coordinated front in confronting the ruling APC. He noted that the alliance is determined to rescue Lagos from misrule.
The party used the opportunity to unveil candidates for senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly seats across the state.
