Support Groups and Associates of the Senate, Federal House of Representatives, and State Assembly aspirants for the screening by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State have been restricted from the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja, the venue of the exercise.
The party further stated that only accredited persons would be allowed to ensure orderliness during the screening.
The exercise would hold on the 11th of May 2026 for the Senate and the House of Representatives, while that of the State House of Assembly would hold on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Similarly, the party, in strict compliance with the eleven Code of Conduct, warned that it would not tolerate the obtaining of money or the offering of the same during the screening, adding that any victim of extortion should report to the screening committee and the party for consequential action.
Mazi Ejimofor Opara, who is the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, in a statement said ;
“Access Restriction: Only members of the Screening Committee and duly cleared aspirants shall be granted access to the screening venues”
“All other persons, including supporters, aides, and associates, are strictly advised to stay away from the venues to ensure orderliness”
“Documents Required: Aspirants must appear in person with the original certificate of their highest academic qualification for sighting by the Screening Committee. Photocopies will not be accepted in lieu of originals”
“The APGA screening exercise is absolutely free of charge; no aspirant is required to pay, or should pay, any amount of money to any person or committee, under any guise whatsoever”
“Any demand for payment should be reported immediately to the National Secretariat”
“The schedule for screening of aspirants from states outside Anambra shall be communicated in due course through official party channels”
“All aspirants are advised to adhere strictly to the dates, time, and requirements stated above”, the statement read.
