The All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Engineer Asalu Ayodele David, popularly known as ASLER, has charged young people in the state to actively participate in the electoral process while maintaining peace ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Asalu, who is the Chairman of the Youths, Students and Civil Society Mobilisation Committee for the governorship campaign of APC in Osun State, noted that the party would intensify mobilisation efforts across wards, polling units and local governments ahead of the August 15 governorship poll.

Speaking during the inauguration of the committee, Asalu said youths remain the deciding force in elections.

“We are going to encourage our youths to be peaceful and law-abiding. They should come out on August 15 and cast their votes for the APC,” he said.

He described Osun as a politically vibrant state with a large youth population, stressing that no political party can succeed without the active participation of young people at the grassroots.

According to him, the newly inaugurated committee was established to mobilise youths, students and civil society groups for the election of the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

“This is not the time for silence or hesitation. This is the time for action. Every ward matters, every polling unit matters and every vote matters,” he added.

Asalu also expressed confidence in the APC’s chances in the forthcoming election, describing the party as formidable and fully prepared for victory.

“If you say formidable, that is an understatement. This party has all it takes to win the election come August 15, 2026,” he said.

Also speaking, the Secretary of the Directorate of Youths, Students and Civil Society, Kehinde Ayantunji, said the committee would embark on grassroots mobilisation across the state to convince residents that the APC candidate remains the best option for Osun.

He said the committee would focus on issues affecting young people, including education, job creation and protection of the rights of women and children.
