APC Group Urges Reconciliation, Unity After Bauchi Gov’ship Primaries

The M.A. Abubakar Grassroot Mobilisation Project has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State to close ranks and work together for the party’s success in the forthcoming general election following the conclusion of the party’s primary elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by prominent members of the group, including Dr Sanusi Magaji, Prof. Ahmed Salisu Garba and Barrister Umar Ahmed Faruq Gwadabe, the organisation congratulated all APC candidates and aspirants who participated in the primaries.

The group particularly hailed the emergence of former Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN) as the party’s governorship candidate, describing it as a reflection of the confidence party members have in his leadership, experience and commitment to the development of Bauchi State.

The mobilisation project stressed that the primary election period was over and urged party members to focus on the larger task of securing victory for the APC in the general election.

According to the statement, while the primaries may have produced different outcomes for contestants and their supporters, such differences should not be allowed to weaken the party’s cohesion.

The group noted that every aspirant contributed to strengthening the APC through participation in the democratic process and called on members to rally behind the party’s candidates at all levels.

It further appealed for forgiveness, understanding and reconciliation among stakeholders, warning against defections and internal divisions that could undermine the party’s electoral chances.

“The time for contest is over. The time for unity is now. Let us forgive, reconcile, mobilise and move forward together,” the statement said.

The organisation also urged APC leaders, youths, women groups and grassroots mobilisers across the state to embrace one another and work collectively towards the party’s victory.

The statement maintained that a united APC would be better positioned to reclaim power in Bauchi State and advance the welfare of its citizens.
