Skepta Calls For Int’l Attention To Injustice In Nigeria

British-Nigerian rapper, Josiah Olaitan Adenuga Jr., popularly known as Skepta has appealed to the global community to lend its voice to issues of injustice in Nigeria, saying the country needs greater international support and awareness.

The musician made the appeal in a video message that circulated widely across social media platforms on Thursday.

In the clip, Skepta reflected on the End SARS protests, explaining that a recent memory saved on his phone brought back thoughts about the demonstrations and the unresolved concerns surrounding them.

According to the rapper, the experience reminded him that many Nigerians are still facing serious challenges and injustices years after the protests.

He stated that he remains committed to speaking out against injustice through different platforms, including his performances, public appearances and creative expression.

Skepta also pointed out that Nigerians are often vocal about humanitarian crises affecting other countries, mentioning places such as Congo, Sudan, Gaza, Lebanon, Iran and Cuba.

He urged the international community to show the same level of concern and solidarity toward Nigeria.

The rapper stressed that although Nigerians are known for resilience and optimism, the country still requires support and advocacy from people around the world.

Investigations showed that the approximately one-minute video was not uploaded directly to Skepta’s verified X account or shared as a standard post on his official Instagram page.

However, several entertainment blogs and media platforms in Nigeria and the United Kingdom reposted the clip, attributing the message to the rapper and presenting it as an appeal directed at Nigerians and the wider global audience.

Skepta has consistently embraced his Nigerian roots in both his music and public image.
