Oyo APC Guber Candidate, Alli Seeks Prayers For Abductees

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, has felicitated Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Adha celebrations.

Alli, in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ibadan, urged residents to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, love and peaceful coexistence as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

He said that Eid-el-Adha remained a season of sober reflection, compassion and renewed commitment to humanity, urging Nigerians to remain hopeful despite prevailing challenges.

The APC chieftain called on Muslims and other residents to continue to support one another and promote unity for the progress, harmony and stability of Oyo State and Nigeria.

Alli stressed the need for fervent prayers for the abducted children and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area to regain their freedom without harm, describing the incident as painful and disturbing, saying that the victims and their families deserved urgent divine intervention, support and encouragement at this difficult period.

The Senator also called for prayers for the abducted staff and other victims linked to the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria in Ibadan, saying that the growing cases of abduction and insecurity remained a serious concern that required collective efforts, sincere prayers and decisive actions from all stakeholders.

Alli urged security agencies to intensify efforts toward rescuing all abductees, while calling on residents to cooperate with lawful authorities in tackling insecurity across communities.

According to him, Nigerians must continue to promote vigilance, unity and mutual support to defeat criminal elements threatening peace and development.

The lawmaker further appealed to political leaders, religious groups and community leaders to use the festive period to preach peace, tolerance and understanding among the people.

He said that the spirit of Eid-el-Adha should inspire citizens to extend love and kindness to the vulnerable, especially families facing painful moments due to insecurity, praying for enduring peace, prosperity and divine blessings for Oyo State and Nigeria, while wishing Muslims a joyful and spiritually fulfilling Eid-el-Adha celebration.
