Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State ahead of the 2027 general election.
Pantami secured the party’s ticket during the PDP governorship primary held in Gombe on Tuesday, where he was endorsed through a voice affirmation process after emerging as the sole aspirant.
The exercise was supervised by the Chairman of the PDP Electoral Panel, Gregory Yenlong, who officially declared Pantami as the party’s flagbearer for the forthcoming governorship election.

Party stakeholders and delegates at the venue unanimously backed the former minister, describing his emergence as a step toward strengthening the PDP’s chances in the state.
In his acceptance speech, Pantami said his ambition was motivated by a commitment to serve the people of Gombe State and improve governance.
“I contested for the seat to offer service to the people of the state,” he stated.
He also pledged to run an inclusive administration anchored on fairness, justice and accountability if elected governor.
Pantami assured party supporters that his administration would focus on good governance and policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the state.
His emergence adds a new dimension to the political landscape in Gombe as parties continue preparations ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
