Sen Buba Promises N80,000 Minimum Wage After PRP Guber Ticket

Senator Shehu Buba has promised to implement an N80,000 minimum wage for public servants if elected governor of Bauchi State in 2027.

Buba made the pledge on Monday shortly after he was affirmed as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) during the party’s primary election in Bauchi.

The senator, who represents Bauchi South Senatorial District, emerged as the sole aspirant cleared for the contest.

Speaking during his acceptance speech, Buba said workers’ welfare would receive priority under his administration.

“I repeat, we will implement a minimum wage of N80,000 in the public service,” he stated.

He also unveiled parts of his policy agenda, focusing on security, economic development, agriculture, mining, and infrastructure.

According to him, insecurity remains a major obstacle to investment and agricultural productivity in the state.

“No investor will come where there is insecurity, and no farmer will plant where there is fear,” he said.

Buba promised to deploy technology-driven surveillance, strengthen local security structures, and collaborate with traditional institutions to address security challenges.

He further pledged investments in roads, renewable energy, storage facilities, and industrial infrastructure to boost economic growth.

The PRP Deputy National Vice Chairman (North), Haruna Buhari, who supervised the primary, said 766 delegates from the 20 local government areas participated in the exercise.

Buhari noted that the party constitution permits affirmation where only one aspirant is cleared for the contest.
