A professor of Nutritional Biochemistry and Toxicology at Babcock University, Olutayo Sunday Shokunbi, will deliver the institution’s 62nd Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, June 4, at the Business School Main Auditorium.
The lecture, titled “Food as Medicine, Food as Poison: Navigating the Double-Edge Plate,” will examine the dual role of food in health and disease.
According to the university Registrar, Dr. Patience Chioma, “Professor Shokunbi will deliver a paper on the topic, ‘Food as Medicine, Food as Poison: Navigating the double-edge Plate,’ while Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, the President/ Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, is the Chairman of the occasion.”
The event is expected to draw dignitaries, academicians, nutritionists, food experts, scientists, and agriculturists.
The university said the inaugural lecture serves to formally introduce newly appointed or promoted professors to the academic and wider community, and to provide a platform for sharing research and new ideas.
