Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, governor of Gombe State, has emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  for the Gombe North Senatorial District ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

The governor participated in the party’s direct senatorial primaries at his Jekadafari Ward in Gombe Local Government Area on Sunday.

Speaking after the exercise, Inuwa Yahaya expressed appreciation to party members for their support, loyalty and peaceful conduct during the primaries held across the state.

He said reports from various local government areas indicated that the exercise was peaceful and hitch-free.

“I came to my ward to participate in and personally observe the process, despite being unopposed, and to sincerely appreciate our people for the massive support and confidence they continue to show in me and in our great party, the APC,” he stated.

The governor assured party supporters that the APC would remain united and focused ahead of the general elections.

He stressed that all party members, irrespective of political interests, remained part of one family and should work collectively for the progress of the party.

Chairman of the APC Senatorial and House of Representatives Primary Election Committee in Gombe State, Alhaji Labiru Musa Kafur, also commended party faithful for their peaceful conduct during the exercise.

According to him, the orderly process witnessed during the primaries further confirmed Gombe State’s reputation as a model of peaceful democratic practice.

Results from the various wards were later collated at designated local government collation centres for official declaration in line with APC electoral guidelines.
