Ohagwu Assumes Duty As 47th Ondo Police Commissioner


The Ondo State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty of Felix Ohagwu as the 47th Commissioner of Police in the state.

Ohagwu takes over from Adebowale Lawal following his redeployment by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance internal security and effective policing nationwide.

Ohagwu was described as a seasoned officer with over three decades of service.

The new police boss brings extensive experience in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and operational coordination.

Upon assuming office, Ohagwu reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating existing security frameworks in Ondo State, with a focus on protecting lives and property through proactive policing, intelligence gathering, and community engagement.

He also pledged to uphold transparency, professionalism, and respect for human rights, while ensuring a corruption-free policing system in line with global best practices.

The Commissioner expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the confidence reposed in him and commended his predecessor for contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the state.

The Command urged residents to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid crime prevention and enhance public safety.
