A political support group, the Renewed Hope Grassroots Movement, has endorsed the former Vice Chairman of the National Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Prof. Mohammad Sani Haruna, to be the next governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lafia, the State Secretary of the organization, Umar Abdullahi, described Haruna as the best among all contenders.
The group said the gubernatorial hopeful is the most qualified and best candidate to clinch the APC governorship ticket of the party for the general elections in 2027.
He said: “We are a support group with structures in all the 13 LGAs and 147 wards, and we hereby endorse Prof. Mohammad Sani Haruna as the most qualified and best candidate for the Governorship of Nasarawa State in 2027.
“This endorsement is based on his proven track record of delivering tangible, industrial, and human capital development projects that directly uplift Nasarawa State and its people.
“His achievements demonstrate vision, capacity, and commitment to transforming Nasarawa from a civil service state into an industrial and technology hub.”
Abdullahi said the support group opted for Haruna because the ex-NASENI boss has attracted a lot of investments to Nasarawa State, which include the establishment of the Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Development Institute (AMEDI) in Lafia, and the establishment of the Solid Minerals Machinery and Equipment Development Institute (SOMMEDI).
He said the group appreciates Haruna for the establishment of the NASENI Solar modules manufacturing plant, Karshi, a facility for local production of solar panels for clean energy adoption.
He said the plant has been positioning Nasarawa as a leader in Nigeria’s green energy transition. Abdullahi cited the employment of over 1,000 qualified youths by Haruna in different NASENI and other ministries and agencies in the country as unprecedented.
He said the group believes all the initiatives and projects by Haruna have placed Nasarawa State at the centre of Nigeria’s industrialization and technology development agenda.
“They reflect Haruna’s ability to attract federal presence, create jobs, build skills, and lay the foundation for sustainable economic growth.
